How We Design at Cloud23
Stage 1 — Define the Vision
This is where we figure out what you actually need — not just what looks good.
We start with a proper design brief.
How do you live in the space? What’s not working? What do you want it to feel like? What needs to change?
Then I come out to site and look at the space properly — how it flows, where the light comes in, what can and can’t be done.
From there, I start drawing.
We test different layout options, move things around, and figure out what actually works — not just visually, but practically.
This is where the big decisions get made early.
Because changing a layout on paper is easy. Changing it during construction is not.
Stage 2 — Develop the Design
Once the layout is locked in, we start building the design around it.
This is where all the selections happen — materials, finishes, joinery, fixtures.
But not randomly, and not one by one.
Everything is considered together so it actually works as a whole.
You’ll see how it looks, how it feels, and how it comes together before anything is ordered or built.
This is also where we resolve the details that usually get missed — how things meet, how they’re finished, how they’re actually going to be built.
Because this is the stuff that either makes a project feel seamless… or messy.
Stage 3 — Prepare for Construction
This is where everything gets documented properly.
All of the decisions we’ve made get turned into clear, build-ready drawings.
Plans, elevations, details — everything the builder needs to price accurately and build from without guessing.
It means fewer questions on site, fewer surprises, and a much smoother build overall.
Why this matters
This process isn’t about overcomplicating things.
It’s about getting everything figured out before construction starts.
So instead of reacting to problems on site,
the project runs the way it’s supposed to.
Less back and forth.
Fewer changes.
Better results.
If you’re planning a renovation
The biggest difference you can make isn’t just in the design —
it’s in how early that design is resolved.
If you want to get it right before it gets built,
let’s talk about your project.
