A Bold Link Between Time and Space
A thoughtful extension to a Victorian cottage in Haberfield, this project explores the intersection of heritage and modernity. A sculptural glass link draws light deep into the home, connecting past and present through form, materiality, and purpose. The result is a space that honours its history while embracing contemporary living.
From Heritage to Home:
A Story in Plan

Ground floor plan showing the transition from the original Victorian cottage into the double storey extension, anchored by the open plan kitchen, dining and living zones.

The upper floor balances privacy and opens with a mezzanine retreat, ensuite and seamless connection to the outdoor terrace.
Design Journey: David Street, Haberfield

A bold addition unfolds behind the original Victorian cottage, setting the stage for a contemporary extension connected by a sculptural glass link.

A transparent link bridges the heritage facade and the new form, allowing light to put in while revealing the interplay of texture, volume and movement across both levels.

Inside, a sculptural staircase framed by vertical timber blades draws the eye upward, marking the shift from historical structure to contemporary volume.

The new rear extension opens into a generous light filled living space - a place for family connection, framed by warm finishes and grounded modernity.

Curved forms and layered textured soften the architectural lines, creating a space that balances openness with intimacy - designed for light, life and connection.

Upstairs the tone softens. A restful palette, curated art and natural light offer a calm retreat within the home's layered architectural story.

The rear opens wide to embrace light, landscape and living - where inside meets outside in a seamless extension of home.
